I will try to post a few thoughts if I can hear myself think above Mark yelling at the TV. I may have to ban him from watching CNN or any news right now for that matter...
I'm a little behind on blogging so I will try to recap the last couple of weeks. Mainly we have been busy with school, homework, football and painting. Mark painted our family room and kitchen. He did a really nice job and the colors really warmed things up.
We had a garage sale last Friday. The boys had gone through a lot of their old toys, games, etc.. It went pretty well. Nice to get rid of things that are just taking up space.
I've been wanting to go up in the mountains and see the fall colors but we haven't had a chance. I'm hoping sometime next weekend we can go up but I don't know when we will fit it in.
That's about it for now. Sorry it's kind of boring but I will post again when I have something more exciting...haha

Connor's special day...
Sunday was a great day for Connor. His two favorite things as I'm sure you all know are Fossils and Football. Sunday morning he and Mark went to the Colorado Fossil Expo 2008 show at the Denver Merchandise Mart. We had never been before but It's part of the Gem & Mineral show, a huge show that I guess comes twice a year. Alex and I stayed home because Alex had a sleepover the night before. Connor was in heaven. He got to meet two paleontologists/authors that he had read about and seen on TV. He knows their names like we would know famous peoples names. He bought two fossil books and had them autographed by the authors...... He ended up with a great find, a Mosasaur jaw. They were selling it at half price because the show was ending. Connor used all of his allowance money he'd saved plus borrowed a few dollars from Dad..... He came home smiling from ear to ear.
The second part of his day was watching the Denver Broncos game........ and they won!! Go Broncos!! (sorry Pam).
What a great day Connor! Life is good.

The days go by...
Seems like the days and weeks are flying by. Alex had a field trip to the Highlands Ranch Mansion last week and I was able to go along. We rode there on a school bus. Alex pointed out to me that he had never been on a school bus. I hadn't thought about it but he was right. Everyone should experience that at least once... the bumps, the noise..it's great..haha I remember when Connor was in 1st grade he had the opportunity to ride the school bus. He was really excited at first but after a couple of weeks decided it wasn't for him. I was kind of relieved... He seemed so little to be getting on this big, noisy bus.
The boys have started Flag football and will have their first game on Saturday. They met their coaches and had a scrimmage last Saturday. Maybe I can get some pictures to post.
Here are a few pictures of Alex's field trip...

Alex turns 8!!!
Obstacle courses, water balloons, slides........ that's what 8 yr old boys birthdays are made of.
Alex's birthday was September 1st. We had a party for him on Sunday. We had about 10 kids including our own. We rented a big bounce house obstacle course. It really was fun. It had a big slide and Mark sprayed water on it as the kids came down to make it much more slippery....... and faster. The kids really had a good time. It rained off and on but it didn't really slow down the party. The kids for the most part stayed outside and played. They also had fun throwing water balloons at each other.
On Monday (Labor Day and Alex's actual birthday). We had a family get together. We had a spaghetti lunch (per Alex's request) opened presents, had a little leftover birthday cake and just relaxed for the most part.
All in all I'd say he had a really good birthday. He is a blessed little boy and we are blessed to have him.
