Easter

I'm a little late with posting this but we had a nice Easter. I had wondered if the boys were outgrowing our Easter egg decorating tradition. Not to worry, they had a great time. We sat around the table and laughed and talked, it was really nice. I hope you had a Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter!

Coloring Eggs...

We had more fun than it shows in these pictures :) The first batch of egg dye didn't come out quite right. It was an off brand and I also used white wine vinegar, could have been one of these reasons but the colors just were not right! Connor and I made a quick run to the grocery store for new Egg dye. This time around we stuck with PAAS, the good and familiar. We also picked up a few Easter goodies.. Peeps, chocolate/marshmellow bunnies, etc.. now we were ready! We also listened to a PBS special on John Denver while we were doing our eggs. I always forget how much I like him.

Easter Morning.. Alex came in around 6am dragging Connor behind him. Both looked very tired but Alex was anxious to check out his Easter basket. Connor wanted to go back to bed. I told a disappointed Alex to give us until 6:30. They went back to bed. Of course then we were awake but it was nice to relax for a few more minutes. And yes they are wearing the same clothes they had on the night before!

Mark made Biscuits and gravy for breakfast and the boys got a little silly at the table...

We actually had a lot of fun hiding and hunting Easter eggs... We did several hunts, We all took turns hiding and hunting. We even had some timed contests. It's been a long day and it's not even lunch time!

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!!!

To Board or not to Board...

There is a lot going on around our house these days. Thus part of the reason I haven't kept up with my blogging. Really I quess there is a lot to blog about just not fun stuff! I won't bore you with the details but our house has a little leak that has caused quite a bit of damage in floors and walls..causing MOLD! We will have to move out at least temporarily soon.. I will keep you posted.

We were planning a little trip to Kansas to visit family in a couple of weeks and are trying to decide what to do with these guys.

Not Alex, he will go with us (haha). They are a little too high maintenance to ask anyone to watch them for us so our option is to either board them or take them. Our vet has a really nice facility but we are such softies we have a hard time thinking about leaving them there for 3-4 days. We took them in for shots yesterday to make sure they were up to date just in case.

Anyway I was determined to get a post up today so boring or not here it is. We are coloring Easter Eggs with Grandpa and Pam tonight so we are looking forward to that.

What are your Easter plans or traditions?

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Easter, Easter and more Easter....

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
We had a good day, starting with baskets, french toast for breakfast, hunting eggs in the house (it was rainy outside). Connor came up with the idea to go to
Bass Pro Shop. He had heard they were having a scavenger hunt. Great way to get the parents all around the store.. if you know what I mean. So we went there and they had fun. They like going there looking at all the "stuff", like fishing gear, etc. Kind of a funny way to spend Easter but as long as they enjoyed it. I didn't get any pictures there but here are some from the rest of our day.

Some of my pictures didn't turn out very well. I'm using my new camera and pictures are coming out blurry. I've checked the settings but I can't figure it out. Anyway I will have to look at the manual again or google it.

Connor coloring eggs. He was pretty tired. He played 2 football games earlier in the day and it was really cold.

Notice how tired Alex looks? He too had a football game but the real reason he's tired is because he woke up at 3am wanting to know if he could go look at his Easter basket.. then again at 5. We told him 6am at the earliest.. I don't think he slept much at all.

Skylar laying by the fire.. She's a warm weather dog, it was kind of cold and rainy so she spent most of the day laying by the fire.. oh to be a little puppy without a care in the world.

The rest of the story..

I realize it wasn't much of a stretch to figure out that someone was hiding Easter Eggs... but it was so funny and the boys loved it so much I wanted to tell about it.

We were living in Florida. The boys were around 2 & 5 yrs old. Grandma lived next door. Easter morning we looked outside and what did we see?? Grandma dressed in an Easter Bunny Costume crouching around and sneaking over to surprise the boys (and us). It was so funny. I was laughing so hard. We had no idea she even had a bunny costume. A few neighbors were peeking out their windows too!

Connor wasn't feeling well. He was sick on Easter..bummer. But Grandma the Easter Bunny sure cheered him up. I still laugh out loud when I look at these pictures and the boys will never forget that Easter!

The date on the pictures is the date I took the picture of a picture. This was Easter 2003.
