• For our two little dogs that bring us so much joy and laughter

Thanksgiving Part 1

We traveled to Kansas to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. It was a nice visit, long overdue. Mom (Susie) cooked a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Grandma Dots help. Everything was wonderful.

Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. For the first time in years maybe ever, it was just the four of us. We decided not to have a turkey but to have a little King crab and tenderloin feast. I have to admit I missed smelling the turkey cooking during the day. We spent the day getting our Christmas decorations out and putting up our Christmas lights. Oh, and of course playing family football. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving to Connor if we didn't have our Thanksgiving family football bowl............ as an added bonus the Broncos played in the evening and won!!

We missed being with extended family but all and all it was a nice day. It was a beautiful sunny Colorado day!

Do I sound like a commercial?

On my Flashback Friday post. That was Mark keeping the boys entertained at a Chili's in Florida while we waited for lunch.I can't remember if we were living there yet. I think we were there on a visit to see Grandma.

Mark is always great at coming up with ways to keep them busy. They used to stack the cardboard coasters and try to blow them down with straws. In this picture they were playing the "blow the crayon across the table game". The last time we ate out with our friend Becky she taught the boys another fun trick with straws.. thanks Beck, they should enjoy that one for years to come :)

Last but not least I want to say thank you to my dear friend and personal blog designer Terra who revamped my blog site. I love it Terra. It's exactly what I wanted. You are too good to me.... but don't stop..hee hee. You are truly loved and appreciated for all you do!

Julie update

I wanted to share some good news with all of you. I talked to my sister last night and she came home on Saturday! She is planning to go back to work Monday. I think she really exceeded a lot of the expectations of doctors regarding her recovery. I told you she was strong. She is just an amazing person and I'm proud to have her as my sister. She wanted me to thank you again for all your prayers and positive thoughts you sent her way. I'm sure it played no small part in her recovery. She also has said she feels better than she has in years. In case you are not familiar with the situation, you can go back to the original post. and the first update.

She also had to make a decision to give up her pet bird that she has had for many years and is very close too. Scarlett is an Orange Wing Amazon Parrot . They really bond with their owners and Julie and Scarlett were very close so I know it was a very hard decision to give her up. It was just too hard for her to take care of. Julie, I'm sure you and Scarlett will miss one another but you are both off to a new adventure and new chapter in your lives.
