Springtime in Colorado!

A few days ago we got a pretty big snow. I looked out the window and the boys were playing capture the flag in the snow with some friends. I took a few pictures.

Bon Jovi Concert

We went to a BON JOVI CONCERT!!! Thanks to a very good friend who gave us tickets.

We have always loved Bon Jovi and the boys have grown up listening to them. They have both played their toy guitars when they were little to Bon Jovi tunes. Their songs are like an anthem for our life. We can relate to different songs with different chapters of our life. I'm sure everyone has groups or singers that they feel that way about. Here are a few pictures.

Peaceful, Graceful, Beautiful

Connor has really gotten into writing lately.... I'm amazed at what he can put down on paper in a matter of minutes. He has been doing quite a bit of writing in his Language Arts class lately. This is a poem he wrote off the top of his head...

***As most of you know Connor has loved Moose since he was very small

Peaceful, Graceful, Beautiful
Moose...
Peaceful
Graceful
Beautiful
The water laps around his legs...
Peaceful
Graceful
Beautiful
He sifts through the cold murky water with his nose...
Peaceful
Graceful
Beautiful
His shadow casts on the water with a glint...
Peaceful
Graceful
Beautiful

Science Fair Project

Alex, with the help of Grandpa finished his Science Fair project and displayed it last Friday. He was very proud of the fact that this was his first individual (all by himself) Science fair project. He had done them in the past with a group.

When we first heard that he wanted to do a SFP (it wasn't required this year) we did what we always do when there is a Science project in the works. We called Grandpa. We know that he always has the best ideas.

He came up with the idea of a "Hot Dog Cooker" or "How to cook a hot dog using electricity." It was a project he had done with Alex's aunt Monica many years ago. He actually still had her poster board display and the most of the parts for it. Alex thought it was pretty cool that Aunt Monica had done the same project when she was little.

It went over very well. Alex said he was getting "squished" by all the kids surrounding him and his project. I think the smell of a cooking hot dog might have had something to do with it. They each got a little sample.

Here are a few pictures of him working on his project.
