He really seems to be enjoying it so far. He said he likes changing classes. He has been chatty and excited after each day. His favorite class so far is "Consumer family studies". He's excited because they get to cook!!
What is it about that first day of school. I cry everytime and it always catches me off guard. I think I'm fine and then as soon as I see them walking up to the school.... well, it's all over. I watched Connor jump out of the car into a big group of kids. He started searching for a familiar face I'm sure. I couldn't keep spying because I was in the car pool and I had to drive forward, darn! I drove away thinking about his very first day of preschool.. didn't seem that long ago.
We also started football this week and between both boys we have practice every night this week and probably for the next few weeks until games start. Both boys coaches are older and very experienced. Even though they are stern, the boys like them and are anxious to learn.
Alex is back to school next week. Maybe I will have more time for blogging then.

aww yay for the first day of middle school!! Look how much he has grown since preschool! I am sure if feels just like yesterday!
I can't believe it's time for the first day of school. Where did the summer go?
I bet when you saw the pre-school pictures, you wondered where the last six years went.
Endings and beginnings. They always seem to come as a pair.
Middle school - it's hard to believe. It's a Kleenex moment, for sure.
I am a big cry baby about first days of school. Middle School?! That can be a hard transition.
We don't start back up again until the week after labor day...so a few weeks to go!
I'm so glad he likes it -that is such a big deal!
I know I will be there sooner than I think...and I will be crying all the way!
Hey Bonnie, I feel the exact same way each year, and gosh my girls are Juniors in HS! I'm an emotional wreck!
I hope the school routine will help me with blogging too, I'm starting to really miss it.
Nick returns to school Monday!
I can't believe he is MIDDLE SCHOOL! ARGH! I haven't been reading much lately (sorry) just getting through the summer! I will catch up! I can't wait to!
Oh man, my oldest is starting grade one and I am ready for him to attend everyday. He gets so bored at home and it drives everyone nuts.
The twins in preschool is also a break for me and them. I find we get along much better and they are more well behaved when they have attended.
Look at me finding excuses to rid myself of my kids..geesh. I guess I am sad to see them go just because I know I can't protect them from every little thing but welcome the much needed break too.
Sigh. Such milestones but happiness tinged with sadness!
Ah, what a cutie he is!!! Happy First Days back to school! I smiled when I read that you thought back to pre-school, as I did the same thing this morning...where does the time go??? Smiles from Denise in Longmont :-)
wow - practice every night?? Everyone keeps telling me to gear up for that! Football doesn't start for us here until next year - thank goodness! :)
Oh, these transitions are so hard on us mommies! He looks so proud though! Good job.
Bonnie, I have missed you!!! I'm gradually re-finding people that I followed before I went AWOL and I'm so thrilled that your name popped into my head today. I did a google search and you're here! YAY!!!
You sound just like me about school. I cry like a big baby every single year. I hate when school starts!
that is great that he is enjoying middle school. Changing classes can be hard on kids, but that is awesome that he is embracing it and loving it!
