ROMEO AND JULIET

This is a post that is a little overdue. Connor performed in his school play "Romeo and Juliet" a couple of weeks ago. He played the part of Sampson (one of Juliets cousins) He was in the opening scene with quite a few lines AND a fight scene. He also appeared in many other scenes and even got to "twirl" Juliet in one scene. That was one of my favorite moments of the play.

We were very proud of him. We thought he did a great job! I took some pictures at one of the dress rehearsals. They didn't turn out great but I will post them anyway.

This play was the most sophisticated and difficult middle school plays I have ever seen. It's impressive how those kids learned those Shakespearean lines-almost a different language. They took it very seriously and were professional through out. My favorite character was Connor, and not just because he's Con (well, maybe a little), but because he stays in character the whole time while on stage. His expression, the way he stands, small mannerisms and glances made him Sampson and not just a kid in a play. BRAVO! BRAVO! Can't wait until next year's play. The boy's a natural.

He is looking so grown up to me now. When did this happen? You're going to all the performances, aren't you? Proud mama you must be!
