I have to admit that I haven't actually read any of the books but Alex's 3rd grade class did and they made their own flat Stanleys. I think the premise is that something fell on Stanley and made him flat. He was mailed to a friend for a visit. The kids all made their own and then chose someone to send them too. Alex chose to send his to Grandma Susie in Kansas. Alex sent it with a letter requesting that she "show" him around and take a few pictures. Well, Grandma came through BIG! She took lots of pictures and actually put together a scrapbook of her and Stanley's adventures.
Alex was so proud when it arrived back at his class room. Here are a few pictures of Grandma and Stanley.
Alex chose to make his Stanley a "Ninja".
Thank you Grandma!!!

omg that is hilarious! Kudos bigtime to Grandma!! Love it!
Hey! I think he's a distant cousin of mine! They used to call me "Flat Becky", but I never got to go on all those fun adventures!
This is so cool! It looks like Grandma had fun with Flat Stanley! I bet Alex loved the pictures!
Okay, Grandma is amazing!
And we've gotten to send Flat Stanley -- and have visits from Flat Stanley! It's a lot of fun and the kids really enjoy reading all about the adventure.
And I think for grown-ups it allows us to release our inner kid at heart! :)
Monday HUGS!!!
I hope Grandma gets and "A" for the Flat Stanley project. She really did a great job!
When my son did the Flat Stanley project, he sent it to my husband, his step-dad, in Iraq, who had been deployed for a year.
DH did a great job and sent back pictures, a flag that had flown over the base, and some small trinkets.
The local newspaper covered my son opening the package in his classroom with a photo on the front page (which is now hanging in his bedroom).
What a great school project!
What a hoot, we've had several friends send us a "Flat Stanley" and he's been to Disney and the Space Center and all kinds of fun stuff.
Great project, and Grandma did a great job too!
I adored that book when I was a child. I have heard of this project before and I think it's absolutely wonderful!
