Do you feel what I feel??

I always get depressed after Christmas is over. I try to talk to myself ahead of time to prepare myself but there always seems to be that let down when it's over. It just seems like such a build up to Christmas and then it's suddenly all over. I love shopping for the gifts that I hope will put a smile on other peoples faces, I love looking forward to all of our favorite traditions with the boys. I love Mom's Christmas spirit that she brings with her and having Grandma Dot spending time with us and bringing all my favorite treats. I could go on and on. I know we are very blessed and I shouldn't complain but the truth is I always feel blue when it's over. (Maybe it's all the sugar and heavy food I eat..mmm, not giving that up though).

I would love to hear some of your thoughts on the subject and if any of you feel the same way? I also feel like our New Years is a little boring. We really don't have any New Years traditions. Maybe it would help if I had that to look forward to. What are some of your New Years Eve or New Years Day traditions?? I would love to hear them. Just click on comments underneath this post.

My friend Leslie is a life coach and she sends Monday Morning tips every Monday. Her tip for this Monday had to do with what I've been talking about It's worth the read.

Bonnie...I was relieved to read your post. I thought I was the only one who got the “post Christmas blues.” For me, it’s realizing what we spent –ouch- (and you know Mike…my crazy budget man! We have an income statement and a balance sheet…who has that?! It makes it worse when you see that little pie-chart. Mike-I LOVE you! You’re insane, but I love you)! Getting back into work mode and coming to the realization all the weight I work so hard to keep off throughout the year is back! BUT! The post Christmas blues are worth it (at least this is what helps me dig myself out), the money we spent brought lots of happiness to us and to our family and I feel absolutely fortunate that we can give, the weight I gained only motivates me to work out, so next year I can pig-out (my logic might be a little backwards on this, but it makes good sense to me) and work…well…I’m still trying to figure this one out! Why am I working when I have beautiful healthy baby Lila??

As for New Years…Mike and I are BIG fuddy-duddies! In the five years we have been married we have never made it to midnight!! Our tradition…go over to our neighbors (Ron and Susan), have dinner and play a few games of spades! Ron and I always lose! But even then, we are home in bed by 10 p.m.!! We won’t be doing that for a while unless they want to come over here…now that’s an idea!! I love you Bonnie!
