I am participating this week in Jenny Matlock's Alphabe Thursday... this weeks letter is "A"!!
What Autumn means to me...
A new beginning, a fresh start
New smells in the air
Vivid colors on the trees, oranges, yellows and reds
The promise and excitement of a new school year
The smell of a freshly sharpened pencil
A brand new Big Chief notebook with blank pages just waiting to be filled
(remember those?)
The pulling out of sweaters, jackets and coats
Warm fuzzy socks
The familiar smell of burning embers in a fireplace
The wonderful aroma of hearty soups and stews simmering in the crock pot
The excitement of guessing when the first snowfall will come
That's what Autumn means to me
What are your favorite things about this time of year??

Great post! I love the fall and a lot of things on your list :-)
You describe exactly what Autumn was for me growing up in the mid west. Here in FL it's a season that is almost non-existent. No changing leaves, no cooler nights until November, no bonfires, not too many sweaters.
I miss having 4 seasons, I'm planning my retirement destination already!
Bonnie! This was fabulous! I just loved reading and smelling and feeling....
Autumn is my favorite time of year! You've really hit on so many wonderful things about the season!
Reading this made me feel so cozy. I'm suddenly looking forward to saying goodbye to summer.
Oh Bonnie, beautiful post! This brought back lovely memories of Autumn in Ohio. It made me soooo homesick!
Thanks for letting me visit my favorite season through your carefully worded post.
Thank you for linking.
